The shoes are exactly how I pictured them. I was resistant at first to purchase them because I was afraid the heal would be too low or too high for ballroom dancing. However, the heals are perfect for dancing and they are very comfortable. If you have slim feet like I do its preferable to get the half size, I got the 6 US size and they are a little big on me but they still fit comfortably. Next time I may get the 5.5 US size.
